What does a Wedding Coordinator do?At Rixey Manor, you will have the full support of an on-site Wedding Coordinator in all our packages. A few of their jobs are... ~ Maintaining contact with your vendors throughout the planning phase ~ Organizing a schedule of drop-offs, deliveries, set-up and event break down ~ Creating a timeline for you, your vendor team and all wedding participants ~ Assisting with table layouts and seating charts ~ Running your rehearsal ~ Keeping your day-of schedule on track ~ Helping you check out and pack up

Do you have a preferred vendors list?We believe each wedding is unique and as such your team of vendors might also need to be unique. We do have a selection of great, tried and tested people who we work with regularly and can recommend.

Are you pet friendly?Yes! We host the whole family - four legged fluffs included! We do ask that they remain supervised at all times, and have lots of recommendations as to how best to includes them in your day.

Is it too late to organize my wedding?Not at all! For those of you who are spur of the moment or who have been let down by other venues, we can always react very quickly to your situation. No matter your timescale we can help you pull off a well organized celebration. Let us help!

Is it too early to plan my wedding?Typically we encourage you to wait until you wedding date is under 24 months away before booking us, or any other vendor.

How many bedrooms on site, and where do we house the rest of our guests?The Manor House has 4 bedrooms. The Newlywed Suite - it has a Cal-King sized bed, with a 360 degree mirror. It adjoins its bathroom which is equipped our famous copper bathtub, separate toilet room (you don't want a toilet in the back of your getting ready photos!) and lots of mirrors, outlets and furniture so everyone can get ready together. The Maple Room - like all our rooms it has its own en suite bathroom, and stunning Cal-King four post bed. It also has views of the lake and the mountains. The Mountain Room - furnished with a Queen sized sleigh bed, and a gorgeous copper tub (and separate half bath) with Blue Ridge Mountain views. The Back Bedroom - this bedroom has it's own access from the kitchen (perfect for sneaking midnight snacks). It has a Queen sized bed and an en suite shower room. The Blacksmith Cottage The Cottage (a short walk on the other side of the Orchard) is a full house - with kitchen and a massive U-Shaped sofa that pulls out into a Queen bed, and a half-bath. Upstairs are two bedrooms (a Queen bed in one and two Twin beds in the other), and a large bathroom. Other Guests Your guests have a variety of options of local lodging, including several airbnb's less than a mile away. Culpeper is 15 minutes from the Manor and while it has some really cute boutique options, most couples opt to book a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Express. Hampton Inn and Best Western. They share a parking lot so it makes for easy shuttling of guests.

Do we have to use preferred caterers?Nope! We don't have any. This allows you to choose the caterers who best suit the wedding you want to hold. We have recommendations from BBQ to Indian food, and almost everything else you can think of! We even have a fantastic range of food truck we work with!

Can we bring our own alcohol? And bartenders?Yes, you can stock the bar however you want to. We don't charge corkage fees and we are happy to help you create a buying list and drink menu. We have 3 taps and a wine fridge, as well as amazing bartenders. We will help advise you on quantities, and all other related issues and concerns. You do have to use our bartenders - they are currently $300 per bartender per event. For all weddings we require at least two bartenders and recommend at least one per 50 guests.

Are there decor restrictions?We are flexible on how you would like to decorate your wedding. Linens, flowers etc are arranged with your vendors. If you are using friends and DIY elements, we help create a timeline so that everything gets done when and how you would like it. As a venue we ask that you don't use loose glitter, confetti that is not biodegradable and all flower petals must be real. We are in a rural area, with many animals - we want to make sure they never digest anything that could be harmful.

Are there noise restrictions?We have 30 beautiful acres and we want keep up our great relationship with our neighbors. We ask that there is no amplified music or speeches outside after 10pm.

Do you have parking?We have ample parking, but strongly recommend you provide shuttles for your guests to and from the hotels (about 15 mins away).

Can you accommodate those with disabilities?We are ADA compliant in the more recently built areas of the property, including the ballroom, patio and main floor restrooms. The rooftop is only accessible via a staircase, as are all the bedrooms.

Do we need an appointment to come and tour the Manor?Yes. We will make sure that someone is there to show you around. We also want to make sure our guests have privacy during their stay. How do we reserve a date?Once you receive your customized proposal, you have 7 days to make your first payment, which reserves your date. The payment to reserve the date is 1/3 of the total contract price, a further 1/3 is due half way through your wedding planning, and the last 1/3 is due 3 months before your wedding.
