We're in Rixeyville, Virginia — an hour from Washington DC, 15 minutes from Culpeper, deep in the Culpeper County countryside with the Blue Ridge on the horizon. Most venues give you a room for a few hours and a list of rules. Rixey Manor gives you a 225-year-old estate: the whole building, the whole 30 acres, for your entire stay.
Bring whoever you want to cook the food. Bring your own bar — no corkage fee, no required wine list, just retail prices and our licensed bartenders to pour it. Bring the dog. Stay the night. Stay two nights. Take over the rooftop for cocktail hour, the ballroom for dancing, the 225-year-old carriage steps overlooking the lake for your ceremony.
And we have a borrow shed. A decade of weddings here has left behind real things: arbors, lanterns, table numbers, candleholders, signs, card boxes, frames. All of it is yours to use at no extra charge. Most couples end up cutting a meaningful amount from their rentals budget once they find out it exists.
There are no other events. No strangers in the next room. No one hurrying you out at midnight. Just your people, your weekend, your wedding, exactly as you imagined it.

The ceremony site faces Rixey Lake directly. In the morning the water catches the light. By the afternoon the Blue Ridge Mountains sit on the horizon behind your guests. The morning fog that comes off the water some mornings makes couples feel like they've stepped into a storybook.

Midweek and one-day weddings start from $6,000. Full weekends in peak season reach $20,000+ depending on guest count and what you add. You can build your own estimate before you ever talk to us.
What you see is what you pay. No corkage fees — you buy your own bar at retail and keep the difference. No required vendors. No mandatory upgrades. A coordinator, overnight rooms, and a full décor borrow shed are included before you spend a dollar extra.

The Owner
Isadora Martin-Dye grew up in England, moved to Los Angeles, and ended up in rural Virginia after finding a foreclosed 1801 estate listed on Zillow. The building was in bad shape. She bought it, moved in, and started restoring it.
That was 2014. She's been running weddings here ever since, first alone, now with a small team who treat every couple the way Isadora treats every couple: like the only wedding that matters.
